Today is the “March for Life” and last weekend was the “Women’s March.”
There couldn’t be a more striking difference between the two marches, as one marches with dignity and the children, and one marches with violence and graphic displays that objectify women, which I thought we were fighting against!, and aborting our nations’ children.
I’m all for women’s rights, and I would categorize myself as a new wave feminist. I celebrate the equality that I have with men in every aspect of my life. And I am extremely grateful and thankful for all the women who came before that shattered the glass ceiling. My grandmother Marion Tally was one of these women. She worked for Tara Resources and flew all around the United States representing her company in business meetings. I celebrate my four beautiful daughters who are following God’s given purpose for their lives. One is a teacher, one is a lawyer, and two are still in High School.
I celebrate all women. And that also means I celebrate all the little women in the womb. They have purpose and destiny written into their DNA.
I celebrate the lives of all women.
I realize that sometimes the timing or the circumstances of the pregnancy and birth of a child may not be ideal for the mother, and sometimes they are born out of trauma or rape–but that child still has a purpose in this world. They are a gift to the world just like you are.
Have you ever been given a gift you didn’t want to unwrap? Or a gift that you wanted to open later and not when it was given to you? Or a gift from someone you didn’t even like? Me too.
But those tiny little babies that began when the sperm joined the egg are a miracle. And when we get to house and protect those tiny little women and men in our wombs, we get to partner with God in their destiny, even in those times when it wasn’t in our plans.
But what if you’ve already chosen an abortion? What do you do then? Is there forgiveness? Is there redemption? How do you get the nightmares to go away?
Only God, through Jesus. There is redemption. There is forgiveness. And there is freedom from the nightmares.
Forgiveness and redemption are available because God loves you and He created you just like he created that little baby. And He wants to free you from those nightmares.
And He WILL–IF you ASK Him to.
I wrote A Mother’s Choice to show you what’s possible and to bring healing to your soul. I hope you’ll read it for yourself and pass it along to your friends.
